A day at the banks of Kabini Backwaters ...
The year 2020 will possibly be remembered as the year of the pandemic, where entire world struggled but eventually came together against the Covid-19 pandemic. We desperately wanted to make some good fond memories out of Year 2020 and travel to few places at least to get out of the routine of work from home. After having to stay indoors / work from home and volunteering with local NGO for few weeks during Migrant Laborers travel crisis, we wanted to have a family getaway some

Lost among stones, the beauty of Ajanta & Ellora ...
Ever since I read about Ajanta and Ellora caves in our school days depicting the rich history of Ajanta & Ellora, I wanted to be there to witness the magnificent historical carvings of Ajanta and Ellora caves. At that time I didn't realize, that it would take me at least 15 more years to be there myself along with my soulmate/travel partner, staring at those stone carvings in the heart of Maharashtra. That day arrived in Feb'2019, when I was in Mumbai (just 3 months before th

Exploring the Paradise - Kashmir Valley
Kashmir is recognized as the Paradise from long time. Even though it is the hotbed of major conflicts between India and Pakistan, including armed conflicts, it was never disregarded as dangerous to travel in Kashmir, at least in tourist circuits. The mesmerizing valleys, the rivers originating from glaciers, the natural skyscrapers "the Himalayas", the snowcapped peaks, the ever welcoming people of Kashmir, the unique cuisine, have always welcomed travelers from all corners o

South Circle - 2 (Hill Stations)
After the success of South Circle-1 (Blogpost Link: South Circle -1 (Beaches & Landmarks) (hilltrotters.com)) journey across coastal Southern India, it was time for HillTrotters, to travel across the mighty western ghats and witness the amazing beauty of prominent hill stations of Kerala and Tamilnadu, adjoining Karnataka's western ghat ranges. We planned this journey only for Kodaikanal, but then we got an idea to make this a long bike ride over 4 days, and also visit Tea Es

South Circle -1 (Beaches & Landmarks)
This was an instance of dream becoming reality in my life. I always wanted to travel long distance for many days on a motorcycle, exploring some wonderful places and get the unique experience of travel. It soon became reality, when I got comfortable enough with my new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350cc back in May 2016. I planned it over a week and came up with the itinerary which included Madurai, Rameshwaram, KanyaKumari, Thiruvanathapuram, Kochi, Calicut, Kannur and Madikeri

Kumara Parvatha - Holy Grail of Trekking in South India
The Western Ghats is blessed with full of beautiful hills and mountains to trek on. While some of them are easy to moderate, the others are challenging. One of those challenging trail is near Subramanya (Kukke) region known as Kumara Parvatha peak. This trail is known as one of the most challenging trek trail in entire Karnataka state and arguably in entire South India. This was the first ever trek (official) which I have done in my career back in 2015 long before HillTrotter
